PACKING LIST FOR MY TRAVEL PERSONAL ITEM – FREE PRINTABLE!
At most airlines, you are allowed a carry-on and one “personal item” for international flights. The dimensions vary, but 9 x 17 x 10 seems pretty average for most airlines. That could include most backpacks, larger totes, etc. I take full advantage of every square inch. I don’t carry-on my regular handbag. I pack that in my checked luggage. My travel handbag is a crossover bag that can’t come close to carrying what I need.
The packing list attached is for my “personal item” that I stow under the airplane seat. For me, this is an inexpensive bag, normally a darker color with a zipper. I always traveled with a nicer handbag until my bag was all scoffed up and torn because of some nuts and bolts under the seat. So lesson learned with that. No more expensive luggage for me. I actually picked up my last bag at Harrods in London. It is absolutely perfect. Longer handle, zipper, tons of colors, in a synthetic patent leather that can take a spill. I absolutely love it. You can look at it here.
My list includes everything I might take in this bag. I don’t take everything on every trip but I like to have a list so I don’t forget ANYTHING. I’m always chasing down a charger or battery pack at the last minute! Also, most of the time, I put items in smaller containers, travel sizes or single uses. Enjoy! And have a great trip!
