BEAUTY IN REVIEW: BEAUTY BOXES ON A BUDGET

Subscription beauty boxes  have been around awhile, but budget friendly stores are getting in on the act and I like it! I’m in product heaven. Most of these are available without having to subscribe or have delivered. You can pick them right up in the stores.  Here’s my review of the latest I have found!

Walmart – I checked out 4 of their boxes and I’m just going to say it… they won. Walmart’s beauty boxes were $9.88 and had FULL SIZE products. I’ve described them all below.

1.Walmart’s Time For Eyes – A lot of beauty boxes focus more on the skin, but this one is all about color. It includes ELF Essentials brow wax pencil, L’OREAL lash paradise mascara (seriously, everyone’s favorite), MAYBELLINE lasting drama eyeliner, ALMAY shadow squad, KISS lash couture and COVERGIRL tru-naked shadow palette. 3. Walmart’s Refresh Renew Extend – It’s all about hair! I go through dry shampoos faster than I can buy another one, so I was pretty excited about this. The box includes BATISTE original dry shampoo, HASK charcoal purifying dry shampoo, L’OREAL total repair 5 damage erasing balm, HERBAL ESSENCE bio renew foam conditioner, NEXXUS keraphix treatment masque, OGX coconut miracle oil dry shampoo and GOT2B fresh it up dry shampoo. 4. Walmart’s Glow For It Favorites – Shimmery highlight and dewy skin are what’s in order with this box. It includes COVERGIRL vitalist healthy glow highlighter, FOUND coconut sheet mask, MILANI make it dewy setting spray, HARD CANDY rose gold highlighter and WET N WILD mega-glo highlighting powder. Target entered the beauty box game two ways, online and in store only. These sampling beauty boxes are available in-store only. They are $7 dollars for 7-8 products. That’s a dollar or less a piece. I don’t think you can beat that. They are sample sizes. I have never seen  these online. I had to put a hunt up for them in stores. As soon as they restock, the display is wiped out again! Target does offer an online only beauty box seasonally, you can check it out here. They also offer one for men. Still only $7.

5. Targets’s Treat Yourself – Bath items, balms and lotions. This box includes BODYCOLOGY free & lovely coconut & rose body butter, DR TEALS pink himalayan foaming bath, ME!BATH bath bomb, LUXE by Mr. Bubble, BURT”S BEES tinted lip balm red dahlia, OLAY regenerist whips and HONEST BEAUTY refreshingly clean gel cleanser. $7

6. Target’s Be You(tiful) – This one is a hodge podge of samples. ELF gotta glow lip tint in perfect pink, SIMPLE water boost micellar makeup remover eye pads, NEXXUS Keraphix shampoo, NEXXUS Keraphix hair conditioner, L’OREAL pure clay cleanser, OLLY beauty vitamin, SINFUL nail color and HONEST BEAUTY deep hydration cream. I was less thrilled with this because I had tried most of the products and where exactly am I wearing a kelly green glitter nail? There was a turquoise option that would have been much better. But still, I’m all about travel size when I’m packing, so I’m sure most of this will go to good use. $7

7. Target’s All The Masks – Now we’re talking. I’m all about a mask. I use them at least once a week and they can get quite expensive. This includes 8. (yay!) NEUTROGENA hydro boost hydrating gel mask, QUE BELLA multi mask trio, YES TO carrots and kale paper mask, MASQUE BAR charcoal peel off mask and ST. IVES soothing sheet mask. $7

8. ULTA’S TARGETED TREATMENTS – If you are looking for a step up from the drug store options, this one weighs in at $9.99 for 6 products in a sample sizes of skin treatments. It includes FREEMAN’s revitalizing peel-off mask, I DEW CARE pure to the pore jelly mask, NEUTROGENA deep clean clay mask, NIP+FAB glycol fix daily cleansing pads, NO7 restore and renew action serum and ULTA BEAUTY COLLECTION coconut sheet mask. I think there is a little something for everyone here who enjoys cosmetics and skin care as much as I do. I could look at products all day, LOL. And bonus, I don’t feel like I’ve broke the bank.
