5 MAKEUP DUPES THAT I’M CURRENTLY WEARING

Pinterest makeup dupes are everywhere. It seems like I’ve tried most of them but the ones I have listed below, I’m ACTUALLY wearing right now.

1. Everyone has the NARS Orgasm Blush it seems and although I was late to the game on purchasing this one, it is a staple now. The color with just a hint of sheen seems to look good on every skin tone and it stays all day. I think this will be in my makeup bag as long as they make the color.

Then I heard about the dupe… the Wet ‘n Wild in Pearlescent Pink and haven’t quit using it since the day I purchased it. It is a WONDERFUL color! Don’t let the images below fool you, it’s pretty close in color and has that same pretty sheen. When I opened it, I thought there was no way it would even be close, but I put one on each cheek and I could barely tell them apart. None of the rest of my family even could. In my opinion, they are both keepers!

Get the original here – it’s about $30.00

And for less than $6, get the dupe here

2. Gimme Brow has been a staple for my brows for a few years. The identical for that is the essence Make Me Brow. It comes in three colors. The main difference I noticed? The essence product runs out pretty quick and when it’s out, it’s out. But, at that price you can afford to buy an extra so you have a backup.

And don’t forget about the Dupe for $2.99 here

3. The mascara of the summer was definitely the Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise which is a dupe for the Two Faced Better than Sex Mascara. Take a look below. They weren’t even trying to hide it! Right down to the color pink on the packaging.

The original is here. $23.00

I have used both and I think that there is definitely a formula similarity but it really seems to me that it was also about the wand. The Too Faced wand does have more of an hourglass look but they are both really thick.  A ton of product sits on both wands. This is definitely for the thick lovers out there. You can get some length but I really had to work at it.  I would repurchase the Loreal but I think I would pass on the more expensive Too Faced.

4. My go-to eye shadow all summer long has been the Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light & Shade Palette that sells for $15 at Ulta. Clearly, when you compare these two, it’s an obvious dupe for the Kat Von D Shade + Light. It’s a pretty close color dupe for sure but the formula is different. They are both good. Both palettes have 12 matte shadows, all neutral with 3 larger sized ones that I always gravitate toward first.

I would have them both in my makeup bag and here’s why… First, I don’t think it’s possible to have enough matte neutrals in your collection. Second, that top left color on the Makeup Revolution palette is EVERYTHING. I’ve used it under the brow, in the corner of my eye, as a highlighter in a jam, and just to cover the entire lid. Saying that, I like the Kat Von D darker colors in her palette. I think they stay on longer and the color is just so pigmented. Quite frankly, in my opinion, Kat Von D is at the top of the game. I’m not sure anyone is doing it better right now. It seems every product I try is a hit. Saying that, it comes with a price tag… $15 versus $48. If I’m on a budget or want to try something trendy that may or may not work on me, I’m buying Makeup Revolution all day long.

5. I love Buxom products. Lipsticks, glosses, pencils and plumpers are all a favorite of mine. I like how they glide on my lips and feel really rich. Never too sticky. The drawback? They aren’t long wear so you are going to be reapplying that baby all day long. Which, after wearing a lot of long-wear lipsticks lately that have left my lips dry and chapped, it’s a welcome change.

My color this summer has been White Russian. It has a hint of pink that I can crank up a notch with one of their glosses or leave it as is. But, then I heard about  a dupe – Nude Creme by Milani and it was great lipstick and I wear it all the time but it wasn’t quite a dupe for the Buxom. Then, I stumbled upon an essence lipstick that had the exact creamy feel that I love in Buxom.  I wear it everywhere. Perfect nude, pinky hue for summer that I’m grabbing before anything else. So, this is more of a formula dupe, not as much for color.

Click for the dupe here, as a matter of fact, at $2.99 I will load up on all their colors

I love to try new products, high-end and drug store alike. Sometimes a dupe works great and sometimes there just isn’t anything quite like the original. Stay tuned for a blog post on all my favorite videos that feature drug store dupes. I’m addicted! LOL

Until Next Time!
